How
We Plant
Our goal is to help plant new churches that constitute what we
would call a “well-conceived project.”
A Well-Conceived Project has:
• The right church planting pastor.
• A clear Vision for ministry.
• A Parent church or Partnering
churches.
• Cultural compatibility.
• Adequate funding streams.
• The right Coaching/Mentoring.
The number of parented churches that have failed
to become strong, self-supporting churches over the last 10 years
is…0
The Process of Church Planting:
• Our existing churches contact us to let us know that they
want to reach out through church planting.
• We identify individuals who may be gifted to plant a church.
• Potential church planters and spouses are evaluated at
a 4-day event where the goal is to determine whether church planting
is the best ministry fit for them. Assessment Centers are
held 3 times a year in different parts of the country.
• The church planter begins to develop a core group of committed
individuals.
• The parent church provides a place to incubate and grow
for the core group.
• 3 times a year we hold Church Planting Training Centers.
These are 4-day events where approved church planters and core
group members learn the biblical and practical principles of organic
church planting.
• The Northwest Conference and the Department of Church
Growth and Evangelism provide scaled financial support, monthly
coaching and special events to connect and resource church planting
leaders.
• As the group grows, they begin meeting independently of
the parent church. The parent church continues to provide ongoing
prayer, volunteer and financial support.
• The church plant becomes a self-supporting, thriving church
where people are coming to know Jesus and are growing in relationship
with Him.
• These young churches reproduce themselves by parenting
more new churches.
