Seeking more ways to reach out to the Covenant community,
Minnehaha Academy has announced it now offers member families
of the Covenant Church 100% of demonstrated financial need.
The school’s Board of Education voted unanimously for
the program, a decision supported and endorsed by the Northwest
Conference Board of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
“We are grateful to have Minnehaha
Academy in the Twin Cities,” says James Fretheim,
Superintendent of the Northwest Conference. “It’s
our school. This program is as a wonderful way for more
Covenant families to give their children an excellent Christian
education.”
In a letter to local Covenant pastors, Minnehaha
president John Engstrom said, “The
Lord has blessed us with many donors who believe in the
importance of providing high quality education that integrates
Christian faith with learning. Their generosity has made
this program possible.”
Demonstrated financial need is the difference
between tuition and the expected family contribution. The
amount of each family’s contribution is determined
by School and Student Services, a third party processor
who has handles all of the school’s financial aid
applications.
Tom Larson, the Academy’s
Director of Admission is contacting Covenant pastors and
congregations throughout the metro area to introduce this
new program and answer their questions. This program replaces
the school’s current 10% discount to students of Covenant
families. Covenant students currently enrolled will receive
whichever amount is higher.
