NWC Community Mission Grant Program

Purpose: To provide outreach ministry seed grants to churches that engage their communities with the good news and good works of Jesus Christ which result in individuals and their communities being transformed. This is consistent with our Covenant mission that embraces the dual mandate of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment for the church.

As we faithfully live these out, our good deeds expressed in service and ministry to others validates the good news. In turn, the good news explains the purpose of our good deeds. In addition, when we serve and give ourselves away to others we in turn grow because service and ministry are critical to our overall spiritual formation and growth as followers of Christ.

Criteria: Funding priority will be given to ministries that meet these criteria:

• Communicate the Gospel in word and deed as stated in Luke 4:18-19, exhibiting compassion, justice, mercy and good news to those in need;
• Are conducted through, accountable to, or linked directly to a Covenant church(es);
• Promote an increasing number of Covenanters in community mission efforts that emphasize the importance of relationship in ministry;
• Demonstrate a plan for sustainability;
• Influence individual and/or community transformation.
